Senior Electrical Engineer – Power Systems for Autonomous Platforms

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and validation of power generation, distribution, and conversion systems for autonomous maritime platforms. The role focuses on creating rugged, high‑performance electrical architectures that can withstand harsh marine environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, specification, and validation of power subsystems for autonomous vessels operating in extreme conditions.
• Develop system requirements, create one‑line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and related engineering drawings.
• Perform electric power load analyses, short‑circuit calculations, voltage‑drop, lighting, and harmonic studies.
• Select or design components qualified for shock, vibration, thermal and marine exposure.
• Conduct trade studies and benchmark technologies from automotive, defense, and mining sectors.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software and autonomy teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Support prototype builds, troubleshoot, and commission systems through lab, dockside and at‑sea testing.
• Document designs, test plans, reports and integration standards; mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing or specifying electrical power systems for marine, automotive, defense, aerospace or mining vehicles.
• Hands‑on expertise in system integration, environmental qualification and manufacturability.
• Ability to produce detailed engineering documentation and lead cross‑functional teams.
