Senior Electrical Engineer

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, specification, and validation of rugged electrical systems for autonomous maritime platforms. The role combines hands‑on development with system‑level integration to ensure reliability in extreme marine environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and validation of electrical and electronic subsystems for autonomous vessels.
• Develop system requirements, power distribution, computing, sensing, and communications specifications.
• Create engineering drawings such as one‑line diagrams, ladder schematics, and network layouts.
• Select and qualify components for harsh‑environment operation.
• Conduct trade studies and benchmark technologies from automotive, defense, and mining sectors.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and autonomy teams for seamless integration.
• Support prototype builds, troubleshooting, and sea‑trial commissioning.
• Document designs, test reports, and integration standards; mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7+ years designing electrical systems for marine, industrial, or safety‑critical applications.
• Proven experience with rugged power distribution and industrial automation.
• Familiarity with low‑voltage AC (<1000 VAC) and DC (12/24/48 V) architectures.
• Strong understanding of EMI/EMC principles and mitigation techniques.
