Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Phoenix

About the role

Moog is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its Space and Defense Group in Phoenix, AZ. You will be responsible for the full electrical design lifecycle of complex boards and subsystems that support high‑performance aerospace hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret system requirements and define system and block‑level architectures.
• Create schematics, block diagrams, and PCB layouts for high‑reliability boards.
• Validate designs through analysis, simulation, and hardware testing.
• Provide PCB design guidance on stack‑up, routing, and SI/PI considerations.
• Support board bring‑up, lab debugging, and documentation production.
• Lead design efforts, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate multi‑discipline teams as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on hardware/electrical design experience.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Proven ability to produce clear design documentation and support board bring‑up.

Required skills

• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Cadence Allegro, Altium).
• Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, and Mathcad.
• Working knowledge of Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis and mitigation techniques.
• Familiarity with power devices/modules or motor‑control concepts (a plus).
