About the role

Applied Materials seeks a senior leader to direct an engineering group responsible for complex, high‑impact programs that drive the division’s technology roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Direct an engineering group responsible for complex engineering programs, ensuring alignment with budgets and release schedules.
• Anticipate future needs and develop new engineering design approaches with significant customer impact.
• Develop and implement long‑range plans and product‑specific strategies, reviewing engineering specifications.
• Lead senior business group initiatives to address high‑value problems and align with organizational direction.
• Interface with internal and external customers on engineering issues and provide approval guidelines.

Required profile

• Broad understanding of systems, theories, practices, and the changing business environment.
• In‑depth knowledge of the segment/function and commercial expertise to differentiate from competition.
• Leadership of multiple managers, developing and executing business‑unit strategy.
• Ability to evaluate key business challenges and direct innovative solutions.
• Influence and negotiate at executive levels, presenting and defending complex issues.
