Senior Director of IT, SAP

About the role

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation is looking for a Senior Director of IT, SAP to join its IT team and own the strategic technology roadmap for its SAP landscape. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will lead a team of IT engineers and developers while personally taking part in configuration, design and testing, rather than only managing people.

Key responsibilities

• Manage people, projects, system migrations and third-party system integrations.
• Mentor team members on SAP capabilities, write and review design documents and functional specifications, and make complex configuration changes.
• Build relationships with third-party technology partners, including evaluating new partnerships.
• Stay hands-on: configure systems, write and review technical specs, debug and test.
• Document IT processes and designs in the IT Wiki.
• Manage IT engineers (analysts/configurators) and developers, prioritizing work with the development manager and business stakeholders.
• Run multiple projects concurrently, optimizing development throughput while minimizing risk of disruption.
• Evaluate new tools and technologies, including AI.
• Own SAP maintenance with the Development Manager: OS and kernel patching, OSS notes and support packs, system refreshes, data archiving, SDK updates, routine HA/DR testing and SAP EWA report evaluation.
• Articulate the key SAP integration points across SD, PP, MM and FI modules.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field.
• 12+ years of SAP technical experience.
• 7+ years of experience managing a team.
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills.

• SAP technical expertise (ECC 6.0, with a planned upgrade to S/4)
• SAP configuration and maintenance
• SAP integrations across SD, PP, MM and FI modules

What we offer

• Pay scale of $160,000 - $205,000, depending on experience and other factors.
