Senior Director, Construction & Development

About the role

The Senior Director, Construction & Development leads the end‑to‑end construction pipeline for Museum of Ice Cream’s expanding portfolio of permanent experiential venues. Reporting to senior leadership, this role owns the build‑out process from lease execution through turnover, ensuring each location meets brand standards while staying on schedule and budget.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage the general contractor relationship, bid process, and contract structures for every museum project.
• Drive construction timelines from lease execution through punch‑list completion.
• Negotiate work letters and ensure lease terms protect Museum of Ice Cream’s interests before signing.
• Select, onboard, and oversee the ecosystem of GCs, subcontractors, and vendors across all active markets.
• Collaborate early with the design team to price concepts realistically and flag cost‑driven design decisions.
• Identify cost‑effective construction and specification solutions that preserve the intended aesthetic and guest experience.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in construction and development for large‑scale, high‑volume projects.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous construction programs across different locations.
• Strong understanding of lease negotiations, contractor contracts, and bid processes.
• Experience working closely with creative and design teams to align vision with buildability.
