Senior Director, Classroom & Conference Space Support

About the role

Georgetown University is seeking a senior leader to oversee all audiovisual (AV) and information technology systems that power its classrooms, conference rooms, and shared spaces across multiple campuses. The role ensures reliable, innovative, and user‑friendly technology that enhances teaching, learning, and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic vision and technology roadmap for AV and IT in all learning and meeting environments.
• Lead a team of AV engineers, technicians, and support specialists, setting performance standards and fostering professional growth.
• Oversee design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of new and upgraded systems for capital projects and renovations.
• Establish service level agreements, operational procedures, and best practices to maximize system uptime.
• Manage departmental budget, including operational expenses, capital investments, and vendor contracts.
• Collaborate with faculty, academic units, and administrative partners to align technology solutions with pedagogical and business needs.
• Provide high‑level technical support and event production for major university events, conferences, and executive meetings.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level leadership experience in AV/IT environments, preferably in higher education.
• Strong track record of strategic planning, project delivery, and budget management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to translate academic and business requirements into effective technology solutions.
