Senior Digital Design Engineer - Electronic Warfare Products

About the role

CACI is seeking a Senior Digital Design Engineer to join its hardware engineering team in Rochester, NY. The engineer helps design, develop, integrate, sustain and test digital electronic components across a diverse product line, from schematic capture and PCB layout to firmware development. The position is full time, regular, requires no minimum clearance to start, and involves up to 10% local travel. U.S. citizenship is required and candidates must be willing and able to obtain a security clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze, design and develop, and assist in commercializing products
• Build prototypes, products and systems for testing, and set up and run laboratory simulations
• Design interfaces and support engineering design reviews, including PDR, CDR and TRR
• Write interface control documents and create schematics and BOMs
• Help establish system architecture and lead technical execution of electrical engineering principles
• Support proposal development by creating technical content for white papers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with at least 10 years of experience in digital electronics design
• Strong understanding of engineering documents such as ICDs, SRDs, CDDs, PDR and CDR
• Direct experience in circuit board design, fabrication and assembly
• U.S. citizenship and willingness to obtain a security clearance

Required skills

• High-speed digital circuits, layouts and interfaces
• Schematic capture and PCB layout
• Digital communication standards such as USB3.x, Ethernet, PCIe, I2C and SPI
• Lab equipment: logic analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, spectrum analyzers and network analyzers
• Desired: VHDL or Verilog, Siemens PADS, electronic exploitation, and developing test summaries
