Senior Development Manager

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a Senior Development Manager to lead resource development, communications, and volunteer management for its San Diego office. This senior position oversees donor cultivation, grant development, special events, in‑kind donations, and community engagement, reporting directly to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Set and achieve annual private fundraising goals of approximately $1 million, including cash and in‑kind contributions.
• Develop and continuously refine an annual development plan aligned with IRC San Diego’s strategic priorities.
• Create tactical action plans for special events, online campaigns, grant proposals, and targeted appeals.
• Coordinate with IRC Headquarters on integrated fundraising initiatives, major gifts, corporate and foundation relationships.
• Lead prospect research, donor cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation activities.
• Supervise the Volunteer Coordinator, interns, and volunteer staff.
• Oversee reporting, analytics, and performance tracking across all development functions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, and grant writing.
