Senior Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

Everforth ECS Federal partners with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to protect critical systems and sensitive veteran data. As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst you will lead the design and execution of data loss prevention and zero‑trust strategies, ensuring compliance and resilience against evolving threats.

Key responsibilities

• Lead incident response efforts, coordinating containment, eradication, and recovery activities.
• Conduct security architecture reviews to align systems with Zero Trust and DLP best practices.
• Develop and maintain automated workflows for log analysis, alert triage, and compliance reporting.
• Implement continuous monitoring to detect insider threats, anomalous behavior, and policy violations in real time.
• Prepare systems and documentation for internal and external audits, adhering to NIST, FedRAMP, and VA frameworks.
• Collaborate with DevOps, cloud engineering, and network teams to embed security controls early in the development lifecycle.
• Contribute to the creation and refinement of enterprise security policies, technical standards, and operational procedures.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen eligible for a Tier 5 (critical sensitive national security) background investigation.
• 5+ years of cybersecurity operations experience, preferably in a federal or VA environment.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with DLP tools and Zero Trust Architecture frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, JavaScript, and PowerShell for automation and malware analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor security events, conduct vulnerability assessments, and support compliance with FedRAMP and VA‑specific requirements.
