Senior Cyber Security Analyst (Hybrid, Sandy, UT)

About the role

Opengear is looking for a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join its growing security function. Based in Sandy, UT, this hybrid role will serve as the operational backbone of the security team, influencing how the program runs and matures while protecting products deployed at the edge of critical networks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead first‑response investigations on security incidents: reconstruct events, determine scope, contain threats, and deliver clear summaries to leadership and stakeholders.
• Triage and score incoming CVEs using CVSS and contextual risk assessment, ensuring SLA compliance.
• Maintain the vulnerability tracking backlog in Jira with accurate status and ownership.
• Respond to customer security questionnaires, RFP sections, and audit evidence requests promptly and accurately.
• Develop and maintain a library of standard security responses and supporting evidence for common customer queries.
• Support pre‑sales security conversations alongside the Security Engineering Manager.
• Produce regular security metrics and status reports for engineering leadership.
• Maintain internal security knowledge base, runbooks, and process documentation.
• Assist with compliance evidence collection for SOC2, ISO 27001, and related frameworks.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in security operations, threat analysis, or intelligence (or equivalent education/experience).
• Strong understanding of network protocols, traffic analysis, and adversary behavior.
• Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, and security monitoring platforms.
• Ability to triage and score vulnerabilities using contextual judgment, not just CVSS scores.
• Excellent written communication for incident reports, customer responses, and executive summaries.
