Senior Controller – Private Equity Portfolio

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the finance and accounting function for a fast‑growing, acquisition‑driven private equity portfolio. The role will be hands‑on, building scalable processes and eventually evolving into the CFO of the entity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, ensuring GAAP‑compliant financial statements.
• Oversee general ledger, AP, AR, payroll and multi‑entity accounting operations.
• Design and maintain internal controls, tax compliance and audit coordination.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and optimize billing, collections and vendor payments.
• Support M&A due diligence, integration of new acquisitions and standardisation of accounting practices.
• Develop KPI dashboards and operational reporting for executives and private‑equity sponsors.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including controller or finance manager roles.
• Background in private‑equity‑backed, multi‑site or acquisition‑focused environments.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting and internal controls.
• Ability to travel to Atlanta and future acquisition sites several times a year.
