Senior Contracts Manager – Industrial & Power Construction

About the role

Our client, a leading construction firm with over 70 years of experience and $3 billion in annual revenue, is expanding its Heavy Industrial & Power division. They are seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to lead contract administration for large‑scale industrial and power projects valued between $50 million and $500 million.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full contract lifecycle – review, negotiate, execute, administer, amend, and close out contracts.
• Analyze prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, insurance requirements and project‑specific terms.
• Identify contractual risks, obligations and deadlines, and communicate critical issues to project leadership.
• Coordinate with project managers, estimators, superintendents, accounting, legal counsel, owners, architects, subcontractors and vendors.
• Prepare, negotiate and administer contract modifications, change orders, RFIs, payment provisions, claims and related correspondence.
• Track deliverables, notice periods, bonding, lien waivers, warranties, retainage and other compliance items.
• Monitor subcontractor and vendor compliance with scope, schedule, safety, insurance and payment requirements.
• Support teams in handling claims, disputes, delays, differing site conditions and extensions of time.
• Review payment applications, invoices and change‑order requests.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in construction contract administration on heavy‑industrial or power projects.
• Strong commercial judgment and ability to assess contractual risk.
• Proven track record of negotiating and managing complex contracts and change orders.
• Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent communication skills.
