Senior Construction Superintendent – Chicago

About the role

The Senior Construction Superintendent will act as the General Contractor’s on‑site representative for large‑scale projects in Chicago. Reporting to Construction Managers and Senior Project Managers, you will oversee multiple locations, ensure compliance with design intent, and manage daily field operations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Approve site logistics and complete the Site Startup Checklist.
• Produce and distribute daily reports, meeting minutes, and other project documentation.
• Supervise craft crews, subcontractors, and onsite functions such as scheduling, sequencing, material control, and safety.
• Approve weekly “Look‑Ahead” schedules and communicate field tasking.
• Ensure all personnel follow site rules, safety programs, and document any violations.
• Resolve unforeseen conditions, contract discrepancies, and construction conflicts.
• Provide technical assistance on drawings, specifications, and construction methods.

Required profile

• Extensive experience supervising construction projects, preferably in high‑rise or commercial environments.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with leadership.
• Willingness to travel up to 90% and live in temporary housing as needed.
• Availability for Monday‑Friday onsite work with occasional nights or weekends.

Required skills
