Senior Complex Claims Consultant – Environmental & Professional Liability

About the role

Davies North America seeks a Senior Complex Claims Consultant/Claims Counsel to lead high‑severity environmental and professional liability claims. The role blends legal expertise with deep claims knowledge to manage multi‑million‑dollar exposures, regulatory issues, and complex dispute resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage a portfolio of complex environmental and professional liability claims from assignment through resolution.
• Evaluate liability, damages, causation, remediation scope, professional standards of care, and regulatory exposure.
• Analyze environmental reports, remediation estimates, expert and engineering assessments, and professional services contracts.
• Develop and execute claim‑resolution strategies based on legal risk, policy obligations, technical evidence, and business objectives.
• Provide clear, independent recommendations to carriers, insureds, and internal stakeholders while maintaining thorough documentation.

Required profile

• Attorney with experience in insurance coverage, environmental liability, professional liability, or litigation, OR senior claims professional with proven management of high‑exposure claims.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multi‑party disputes, regulatory involvement, and excess implications.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills with a track record of resolving seven‑figure exposures.
