Senior CNC Programmer / Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Senior CNC Programmer/Manufacturing Engineer to join its Manufacturing Engineering team in Torrance, CA. You will develop, optimize and sustain manufacturing programs for complex aerospace components, ensuring high‑quality, efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Create, modify and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software for 3‑, 4‑ and 5‑axis mills, lathes and mill/turn machines.
• Plan process methods for multi‑operation, multi‑functional machinery, including multi‑pallet and pallet‑pull systems.
• Design and specify tooling, jigs and fixtures, producing detailed drawings or sketches as needed.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, process sheets, setup instructions and SOPs.
• Provide technical support on the shop floor, troubleshoot machining issues, and assist with first‑article inspections.
• Apply Lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce cycle time and lower cost.
• Collaborate with methods engineering, quality and production teams to ensure compliance with drawing and quality standards.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in CNC programming for multi‑axis equipment.
• Proven ability to design tooling and fixtures for aerospace parts.
• Strong background in process planning and documentation.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting skills and experience supporting first‑article inspections.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
