Senior Clinical Pharmacist

About the role

The Senior Clinical Pharmacist provides clinical support to internal stakeholders by monitoring clinical criteria, managing drug utilization, and implementing cost‑containment strategies. This remote position works within a health‑plan environment to improve health outcomes while controlling pharmacy spend.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor clinical criteria and provide actionable support to internal teams.
• Develop, maintain, and operationalize preferred drug lists, utilization management edits, and clinical coverage policies.
• Analyze drug utilization trends, spend, and approval scenarios to inform process improvements.
• Support trend management initiatives and contribute to departmental strategy.
• Make independent decisions on moderately complex to complex technical issues without direct supervision.

Required profile

• Pharmacy degree (PharmD or RPh) from an accredited school.
• Active pharmacist license in the appropriate state.
• Strong analytical ability to draw conclusions from complex data.
• Passion for enhancing consumer experiences in a health‑plan setting.
• Flexible, dynamic personality that works well both in teams and independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Knowledge of Medicaid pharmacy regulations (preferred).
• Six Sigma or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred).
• Health‑plan or managed‑care pharmacy experience (preferred).
