Senior Buyer - Communications

About the role

OTTO Engineering seeks an experienced Senior Buyer for its Communications Division to manage purchasing of materials, equipment, and supplies supporting mission‑critical communication systems.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain quotations, prepare and place purchase orders for multiple commodity groups.
• Conduct vendor audits, manage the vendor base, and negotiate major contracts.
• Support engineering in new product and vendor development, and participate in Material Review Board activities.
• Expedite deliveries, control inventory levels, and maintain purchase cost standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of related purchasing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Availability for non‑standard or extended work schedules.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• MRP purchasing systems.
• Vendor management and contract negotiation.
• ISO 9000 knowledge.
• CPM (preferred).
