Senior Business Development Manager – Ocean Freight

About the role

We are seeking a results‑driven Senior Business Development Manager to expand our ocean freight portfolio in the Charleston market. You will prospect new customers, nurture relationships, and drive revenue growth while collaborating with internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and contact prospective customers, assess their needs and match them with our services.
• Present rate structures and service options to new and existing accounts.
• Actively pursue new business opportunities and meet defined KPIs.
• Manage an assigned territory, maintaining deep knowledge of customers and competitors.
• Build and sustain customer and station relationships, working closely with regional resources.
• Facilitate onboarding of new accounts, ensuring smooth information transfer and paperwork completion.
• Generate and analyze sales reports to track performance and identify trends.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years of successful sales experience in the forwarding industry, preferably with OFR exposure.
• Hunter‑mindset with strong goal orientation and self‑motivation.
• Ability to make quick decisions in a fast‑changing environment.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
