Senior Backend Engineer – Observability Platform

About the role

Join ClickStack to revolutionize observability for developers. You will help build a petabyte‑scale platform that turns logs, metrics, traces and session replays into actionable insights, delivering a faster root‑cause analysis experience.

Key responsibilities

• Own and build core backend services and high‑throughput data pipelines that power the ClickStack observability platform.
• Design, implement and maintain APIs and infrastructure that handle petabyte‑scale ingestion, processing and querying of logs, metrics, traces and session replays.
• Collaborate with open‑source contributors and customers to incorporate feedback into backend architecture.
• Occasionally contribute to Go‑based services and improve the overall reliability of the platform.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience, preferably building developer tools or infrastructure.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to ship impactful features quickly.
• Passion for open source and delivering an excellent developer experience.

Required skills

• TypeScript and Node.js (Express, Fastify or similar).
• Go (experience a plus).
• API design, distributed systems and data modeling.
• Containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, OpenTelemetry, Kafka or NATS.
