Senior Associate Director – Direct Response Marketing & Content

About the role

The Senior Associate Director leads the creation, coordination, and execution of direct‑response fundraising content for Georgetown University Medical Center’s annual giving program. Working closely with the Office of Advancement, University Communications, and multiple GUMC units, this role crafts compelling messages that drive donor engagement and support the university’s fundraising goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mass‑market fundraising messaging across multiple channels, aligning content with GUMC’s priorities.
• Write, edit, and coordinate direct‑response appeals, stewardship pieces, and other multi‑channel fundraising communications for diverse audiences.
• Manage creative and content timelines, workflows, and approval processes for multiple simultaneous campaigns.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, volunteers, and leadership to ensure high‑quality, timely delivery of fundraising materials.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in copywriting, project management, content development, and fundraising, preferably in a medical or academic setting.
• Demonstrated ability to produce persuasive fundraising copy for medical‑research audiences.
• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
