Senior Associate Chair

About the role

The Senior Associate Chair provides senior academic leadership within the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. This role supports the department’s educational, research, and clinical missions while fostering collaboration and diversity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee academic programs, curricula development, and faculty performance.
• Collaborate with department heads, clinicians, and researchers to align initiatives with institutional goals.
• Manage budgeting, resource allocation, and operational processes for the department.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor faculty and support professional development opportunities.
• Represent the department in university-wide committees and external partnerships.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) in a relevant health‑science field.
• Extensive experience in academic leadership or senior administrative roles within a medical or health‑science environment.
• Proven track record of managing faculty, curricula, and research programs.
• Strong understanding of accreditation, compliance, and university governance.
