Senior Asset Pipeline Engineer - Sensor Platform

About the role

Applied Intuition is building a high‑fidelity sensor simulation platform for automotive and robotics customers. As a Senior Asset Pipeline Engineer you will lead the design and implementation of the next‑generation asset pipeline built on OpenUSD, ensuring the 3D asset library scales across authoring tools and simulation engines.

Key responsibilities

• Design the OpenUSD schema and composition strategy (references, variants, payloads, custom schemas) for a large, versioned 3D asset library.
• Build and maintain automated pipelines that move assets between DCC tools and real‑time/simulation engines, eliminating manual hand‑offs.
• Define automated validation gates in CI to catch asset‑integrity and fidelity issues before production.
• Implement material conversion workflows that translate complex authored materials into USD‑native representations (UsdShade, MDL) while preserving physical fidelity.
• Partner with simulation and infrastructure teams to take designs from concept through production deployment.

Required profile

• Senior‑level individual contributor with proven experience in asset pipeline engineering.
• Deep understanding of OpenUSD architecture and its application to large‑scale 3D asset libraries.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with simulation and infrastructure teams.
