Senior Architect - Multi-Family Residential

About the role

AE7's Pittsburgh office is looking for a Senior Architect to lead, develop, manage and grow its Multi-Family Market Sector. The role suits someone who has spent most of their career on multi-family residential projects and clients, and who can also take part in business development and help secure project work. It has the potential to grow into a Multi-Family Residential Practice Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the design and execution of multi-family residential projects
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact and managing expectations through the project lifecycle
• Take part in RFP query sessions and client interviews
• Help write project proposals defining the firm's role, scope of work and fee structures
• Mentor and coach team members on design principles, technical expertise and industry best practices

Required profile

• Licensed architect with at least 15 years of experience, mainly in multi-family residential
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
• Proven track record of leading projects from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling and resource management
• Strong design portfolio in the multi-family residential sector
• Experience with affordable housing projects and willingness to support business development and staffing

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations and industry standards for multi-family residential facilities
• Leadership and communication skills; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Desirable: LEED, WELL or Passive House certification, and membership in multi-family residential organisations
