Senior Aircraft Sheetmetal Technician – MAR/Retrofit

About the role

Airbus Helicopters seeks a Senior Aircraft Sheetmetal Technician to join the New Helicopter Completions team in Columbus, MS. The role involves working on assigned aircraft, assemblies, and parts within the sheet‑metal area on a temporary contract basis.

Key responsibilities

• Read detailed plans, diagrams, and blueprints; inspect and measure parts before assembly to ensure they are defect‑free and correctly sized.
• Install sheet‑metal parts and assemblies on helicopters, ensuring structural integrity and proper system operation.
• Fit and assemble skins, frames, and other components, performing drilling, fitting, and riveting on sub‑assemblies such as tail booms and stabilizers.
• Collaborate with inspectors to run tests and verify proper assembly of parts.

Required profile

• Minimum six years of related experience; education or A&P license may substitute for part of the experience.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• U.S. Person status under ITAR (U.S. citizen, green‑card holder, or covered by existing ITAR license).

Required skills

• Blueprint reading and interpretation.
• Sheet‑metal installation, drilling, and riveting.
• Operation of production tools, including hydraulic lifts and other equipment.
