Senior Aircraft Sheetmetal Technician (Contract)

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking an experienced Senior Aircraft Sheetmetal Technician to join its New Helicopter Completions team in Columbus, Mississippi. This contract position involves working on helicopter airframes, assemblies, and parts, ensuring high‑quality fabrication and installation.

Key responsibilities

• Read detailed plans, blueprints, and diagrams to verify part dimensions and defect‑free status before assembly.
• Install sheet‑metal components and assemblies on helicopters, maintaining structural integrity and system functionality.
• Perform drilling, fitting, and riveting of sub‑assemblies such as tail booms and stabilizers.
• Collaborate with inspectors to run tests and confirm proper assembly.
• Measure and inspect parts throughout the fabrication process.

Required profile

• Minimum six (6) years of related aircraft sheet‑metal experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and apply standard shop practices.
• Proficiency in English (read, write, speak).
• Current Airframe or Powerplant license is a plus, not mandatory.
