Senior Air Traffic Control Specialist – FAA Program Management

About the role

Objective Area Solutions (OAS) is seeking a Senior Air Traffic Control Specialist to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Organization. This Level V position acts as a senior operational subject‑matter expert, translating air traffic operational needs into system requirements and guiding technical interchange activities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate air traffic requirements and operational activities across FAA program offices and lines of business.
• Support technical interchange meetings, program reviews, and liaison with the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA).
• Transform operational needs into system‑level functional and performance requirements.
• Perform system and subsystem specification analyses to ensure operational concerns are addressed.
• Review design documentation, concepts of operation, and interface control documents, providing operational feedback.
• Conduct airspace analysis and design for National Airspace System infrastructure projects, including surveillance installations and upgrades.
• Support development, validation, and simulation of automation, surveillance, navigation, and separation capabilities.
• Provide operational input to FAA Safety Management System and Safety Risk Management activities.
• Prepare and deliver briefings to FAA leadership, program offices, industry, labor organizations, and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Extensive experience supporting FAA acquisition or program management organizations.
• Senior‑level air traffic control judgment and operational expertise.
• Proven ability to coordinate across multiple FAA program offices and external partners.
• Strong analytical skills for system specifications and airspace design.
