Senior AI Engineer - Multi-Agent Frameworks

About the role

ClickUp is building an AI‑native workspace and seeks a Senior AI Engineer to lead the development of its Multi‑Agent Frameworks. In this backend‑focused position you will design platforms that let users create, orchestrate and evaluate sophisticated AI agents that can collaborate.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain a robust platform for creating and managing AI agents and their interactions.
• Integrate multiple large language models (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere) and ensure scalable orchestration for both single and coordinated agents.
• Leverage orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph to build complex workflows supporting multi‑agent coordination.
• Develop evaluation frameworks to test agents in challenging scenarios, measuring both individual performance and system dynamics.
• Collaborate with product, design and frontend teams to deliver a seamless user experience for building and deploying intelligent systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with several LLM providers and understanding their strengths and limitations.
• Deep expertise in orchestration software (e.g., LangGraph) for managing agent workflows.
• Strong background in backend engineering and AI/ML fundamentals.
• Experience handling AI privacy challenges, data anonymization and compliance.
• Familiarity with search technologies and their integration into AI platforms.
