Senior Agent Harness Engineer

About the role

Savvy is hiring its first dedicated Agentic Harness Engineer to own the interaction between developers and coding agents across the Engineering, Product and Data (EPD) organization. The role is hands‑on platform engineering, focused on improving the codebase, internal tools, cloud coding workflows, agentic code review, CI, testing and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Define the roadmap for developer and coding‑agent experience, including navigation, testing, review and shipping.
• Build the cloud‑coding layer that handles task intake, environment setup, permissions, observability and delivery.
• Improve agent output by redesigning repository structure, documentation, instructions and feedback loops.
• Design and maintain the internal skills system, setting contribution standards and pruning outdated instructions.
• Reduce everyday developer friction by speeding up CI, simplifying local setup, and streamlining debugging and deployment workflows.
• Measure impact using developer satisfaction data, DORA/SPACE metrics and task‑level agent evaluations.
• Drive adoption through direct engineering support, training and turning successful experiments into defaults.
• Partner with infrastructure and security teams to implement sandboxing, credential approvals and audit controls for cloud agents.

Required profile

• Extensive experience using coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, with a proven ability to decompose tasks, manage context and deliver maintainable software.
• Track record building developer tooling or platforms that serve multiple teams and reduce support burden.
• Demonstrated improvements to CI, testing or repository workflows in large, long‑lived codebases.
• Strong product judgment for internal systems, able to interview engineers, identify root causes and prioritize roadmap items.
• Solid software engineering background with production‑grade code delivery across any language or framework.
• Data‑driven evaluation mindset, comparing prompts, models and workflows against real tasks rather than demos.
• Ability to influence cross‑team standards without becoming a gatekeeper, earning trust through evidence.
• Comfort moving between platform code, repository conventions, evaluation data, developer interviews and hands‑on enablement.
