Senior Advisory Associate – New York

About the role

The Senior Advisory Associate will join HLS Global’s advisory team in New York, providing high‑quality audit, tax and consulting services to a diverse client base. This role blends technical accounting expertise with client‑facing responsibilities, supporting both day‑to‑day engagements and longer‑term projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform audit, review, compilation and tax compliance engagements for corporate and individual clients.
• Assist with monthly closing processes, bookkeeping reviews and financial statement preparation.
• Conduct research, data analysis and documentation to support client deliverables.
• Collaborate with senior staff to identify risks, develop recommendations and ensure timely completion of assignments.
• Maintain clear communication with clients in both English and Japanese.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in a public accounting firm, preferably with exposure to audit, tax and bookkeeping services.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and eligibility to sit for the CPA exam.
• Demonstrated leadership, problem‑solving abilities and strong written and oral communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented, able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Fluency in Japanese and English, both written and spoken.
