Senior Accountant – Retail & Wholesale

About the role

The Royal Standard is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations across its growing retail and wholesale network. You will ensure the accuracy of financial records, mentor a small accounting team, and support leadership with timely financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports prepared by the team.
• Identify discrepancies, research issues, and implement corrective actions before close.
• Oversee daily accounting activities for multiple locations, including general ledger entries and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes and prepare accurate financial statements.
• Mentor, coach, and provide day‑to‑day guidance to a team of two to three accountants.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and other accounting functions as needed.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency.
• Utilize NetSuite and other ERP systems to streamline reporting and workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 3‑5 years of progressive financial accounting experience, including month‑end close and financial statement preparation.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Proven ability to review work of others, mentor team members, and lead accounting projects.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• NetSuite (or comparable ERP accounting software).
• Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP.
