Senior Accountant (Remote)

About the role

Thought Industries is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its Finance team. This remote position plays a vital part in maintaining financial oversight, streamlining the monthly close cycle, and managing key operational workflows. The role reports directly to the Corporate Controller and prefers candidates in the Eastern or Central time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Support the month‑end close process and meet all deadlines.
• Prepare month‑end journal entries with supporting schedules.
• Perform monthly and quarterly balance‑sheet account reconciliations.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including billing, collections, vendor management, and employee expense reports.
• Monitor daily bank activity and record transactions in the general ledger.
• Approve corporate credit‑card transactions via Bill.com.
• Prepare monthly state sales‑tax reports and remit payments.
• Identify and implement strategies to improve procedural efficiency.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2‑3 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
• High ethical standards and integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency with G‑Suite for Business.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
• Experience with QuickBooks.
• Familiarity with Sage Intacct.
• Experience using Bill.com.
• Ability to work with Agentic AI applications.

What we offer

• Annual base salary ranging from $50,000 to $70,000.
