Senior Accountant – Part‑Time 1099 Contractor

About the role

Cerebral is seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant on a 1099 contract basis to support its finance team in a part‑time capacity. You will own key elements of the monthly close, ensure accurate journal entries, and provide financial insights that drive business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for the monthly close.
• Own select account reconciliations and propose adjusting entries.
• Assist with the preparation of financial reporting packages.
• Analyze complex account activity and recommend process simplifications.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register and support internal‑control documentation.
• Collaborate with other departments to answer accounting‑related queries.
• Participate in special projects and ad‑hoc analyses as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA designation preferred.
• 3+ years of in‑house accounting experience or experience at a Big Four firm.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and detail‑orientation skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and meet tight deadlines.
• High integrity, self‑awareness and humility.
