Senior Accountant – New Orleans

About the role

Advantage Capital is seeking a detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to join its growing accounting team in New Orleans. The role is pivotal for ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and providing forward‑looking insights that support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
• Maintain supporting documentation and ensure audit‑readiness year‑round.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare quarterly financial statements and support peer‑review processes.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams during month‑end and quarter‑end close.
• Mentor staff accountants, reviewing their work and fostering professional growth.
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes, leveraging automation and AI tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting.
• CPA or CPA‑eligible preferred.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Office suite.
• Experience with AI tools to support accounting workflows.
