Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will support the controllership function at New Fortress Energy, focusing on lease accounting, accrued liabilities, payroll and bonus compensation, and month‑end close activities. This is a hands‑on, detail‑oriented position that works closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage lease schedules, journal entries, and reconciliations for finance and operating leases.
• Review lease contracts, apply ASC 842 guidance, and prepare lease‑related disclosures for financial statements.
• Track, record, and reconcile accrued expenses across operations, SG&A, and other functions.
• Support payroll accounting and bonus calculations, ensuring proper cut‑off and accrual methodologies.
• Execute monthly close activities, including right‑of‑use asset and liability reconciliations.
• Collaborate with FP&A on reporting insights, variance analysis, and budget versus actuals.

Required profile

• Hands‑on accountant with strong attention to detail.
• Experience in lease accounting and ASC 842 compliance.
• Proven ability to manage accrued liabilities and payroll accounting.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
