Senior Accountant

About the role

KERA is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Finance team. The role involves managing month‑end close activities, preparing financial reports, and supporting audit processes while adhering to GAAP and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Execute general ledger month‑end close procedures, including journal entry preparation (recurring, accruals, prepaid, fixed assets).
• Maintain and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• Prepare internal and external financial reports.
• Assist with annual audit preparation and maintain auditable documentation.
• Investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
• Document accounting procedures, processes, and internal controls.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a media or nonprofit environment.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Detail‑oriented, highly organized, and able to work independently under pressure.
