Senior Accountant / Financial Controller

About the role

Higher Options is seeking a highly analytical Senior Accountant / Financial Controller to manage the financial and accounting operations of its growing U.S.-based hospitality and events brands. The role is fully remote and requires close collaboration with founders and leadership to provide clear financial insight.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks Online, including transaction classification, bank reconciliations, and intercompany accounts.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements across multiple entities, flagging unusual fluctuations and inconsistencies.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, oversee accounts payable/receivable, and support payroll review and reporting.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, inventory, COGS, fixed assets, and general ledger records.
• Support tax compliance, audit readiness, and coordination with external accountants or advisors.

Required profile

• Strong, hands‑on experience with QuickBooks Online and multi‑entity accounting.
• Excellent understanding of financial statements, GAAP, and the relationship between P&L and balance sheet.
• High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Clear written and verbal English communication and comfort working remotely with U.S. teams.
