About the role
The State Board of Workers’ Compensation is seeking a Security Ops & Safety Trainer to lead its public‑safety training and security program. Reporting to the Board’s leadership, you will act as the head of security and primary instructor for law‑enforcement, firearms, and workplace‑safety courses across the agency.
Key responsibilities
- Design, schedule and deliver security, firearms, and safety training for Board personnel and external partners.
- Maintain compliance with Georgia POST requirements and manage certification records.
- Develop lesson plans, training exercises, and instructional materials that reflect current laws and best practices.
- Provide security services for the Board’s administrative courts, including threat assessments and incident investigations.
- Conduct statewide security assessments and coordinate emergency‑preparedness activities.
- Collaborate with local, state, and federal law‑enforcement agencies to ensure a safe environment for employees, judges, and visitors.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in security operations, criminal investigations, or law‑enforcement training.
- Proven ability to develop and present adult‑learning curricula for firearms and workplace safety.
- Strong knowledge of Georgia POST regulations and certification processes.
- Willingness to travel throughout Georgia for training and security duties.
- Clear‑cut communication skills and capacity to work with diverse stakeholder groups.
