Security Officer - Part Time

About the role

The Security Officer protects lives and property on the Millstone Campus and affiliated facilities, serving as a frontline crime deterrent through vehicle patrols, foot patrols, and stationary posts. The role requires carrying a firearm and adhering to the Jewish Federation’s mission, vision, and values.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol premises, monitor surveillance equipment, and inspect buildings, equipment, and access points.
• Report irregularities, enforce policies, and request departure of trespassers.
• Control traffic and enforce traffic‑control applications.
• Complete detailed incident reports, record observations, and interview witnesses.
• Provide armed first‑response to criminal threats and support security at community events.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.
• 3+ years of armed security or public‑safety experience (e.g., corrections officer, police officer, military police, or loss‑prevention).
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Armed Uniform Exempt Metro Security Officer License and a concealed‑carry permit in Missouri.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work varied shifts, and operate in inclement weather.

Required skills

• Proficiency with firearms and maintenance of required licenses.
• Experience with security systems such as video surveillance, intrusion detection, and access control.
