Security Officer – Night Shift

About the role

The Security Officer protects and provides a safe environment for Lehigh Valley Health Network’s hospitals, parking facilities, satellite sites, employees, patients, and visitors. This night‑shift position involves patrolling, responding to emergencies, and ensuring security protocols are followed.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol internal and external areas of hospitals, clinics, parking lots and grounds, reporting hazards and suspicious activity.
• Respond to coded alarms, provide security escorts, and act as a first responder to emergency incidents.
• Assist with evacuations, conduct initial inquiries for administrative or criminal complaints, and detain persons when reasonable suspicion exists.
• Maintain and operate vehicles and shuttles safely, ensuring they are clean and in proper working condition.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED and at least 1 year of security, law‑enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or graduation from a law‑enforcement academy.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, troubleshoot access‑control and alarm systems, and demonstrate proper use of security equipment.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
• Within 90 days of hire: BLS certification, CHSO (Certified Healthcare Security Officer) basic level, and BCCM (Basic Comprehensive Crisis Management) certification.
