Security Manager

About the role

South Jersey Industries is seeking a Security Manager to lead and execute security programs that protect its people, property, plant, and digital assets. The role involves developing policies, managing risk, and coordinating with internal teams and external law‑enforcement partners.

Key responsibilities

• Review, implement, and promote security, property protection, and response/recovery programs.
• Identify improvements to existing security programs and ensure compliance with policies and budgets.
• Participate in emergency planning, crisis management, and risk analysis related to personnel, facilities, and technology.
• Conduct investigations of internal and external threats to employees, property, or technology.
• Provide security support for key personnel at residences, offices, or while traveling.
• Maintain relationships with commercial intelligence sources and security‑related associations.
• Serve as primary contact for local, state, and federal law‑enforcement agencies.
• Oversee day‑to‑day security operations within established guidelines.
• Evaluate security vendors and recommend procurement of equipment and services.
• Coordinate with corporate safety committees, facilities, law‑enforcement, fire departments, and security contractors.

Required profile

• Proven experience in physical security management, preferably in a large‑scale organization.
• Strong understanding of emergency planning, crisis response, and risk assessment.
• Ability to develop and enforce security policies and manage budgets.
• Excellent communication skills for liaison with law‑enforcement and internal stakeholders.
