Security Engineer

About the role

We are a global financial technology firm looking for an Information Security Engineer to join our security team in New York. The role will focus on assessing risk, improving controls, and collaborating with IT and engineering teams to strengthen the firm’s security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Assess security risks across infrastructure and applications.
• Design, implement and support controls for vulnerability management, anti‑malware, IDS/IPS, SIEM, network monitoring and user‑behaviour analytics.
• Partner with IT and engineering teams to remediate identified risks.
• Support application security through static analysis, dependency management and secure CI/CD practices.
• Develop security automation and internal tooling.
• Stay current on emerging threats in the financial services sector.

Required profile

• Degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in information security engineering.
• Strong understanding of threat and vulnerability management.
• Experience with Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell, Python or Bash.
• Experience with Active Directory or similar directory services.
• Familiarity with security event and incident management.
