Security Engineer I

About the role

Chewy is looking for a Security Engineer I to join its Information Security team in either Plantation, FL or Boston, MA. You will work in a collaborative environment focused on detection engineering, incident response, and the development of SIEM and SOAR capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Triaging alerts from multiple security tools to identify potential incidents.
• Developing, tuning, and maintaining SIEM detection rules.
• Designing, implementing, and updating SOAR playbooks.
• Integrating API functionality into playbooks using Python.
• Improving playbooks based on post‑incident analysis.
• Participating in an on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals.
• Experience configuring endpoint detection and response, firewalls, WAFs, and IDS/IPS.
• Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Basic proficiency in Python and analytical problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced e‑commerce environment and balance multiple priorities.
