Security Engineer, Detection & Response

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Detection and Response engineer to build and operate solutions that monitor threats, investigate incidents quickly, and coordinate response across teams. You will shape security capabilities from the ground up while working closely with world‑class research and security groups.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity incident response covering external attacks, insider threats, and all layers of Anthropic’s technology stack.
• Develop and deploy novel tooling, including leveraging large language models, to enhance detection, investigation, and response.
• Create and optimize detections, playbooks, and workflows for rapid incident identification and remediation.
• Review incident‑response metrics and procedures, driving continuous improvement.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with security and engineering teams.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation as required.

Required profile

• 3+ years of software engineering experience (security experience a plus) or 5+ years in detection engineering, incident response, or threat hunting.
• Solid understanding of cloud environments and SaaS operations.
• Proven ability to work with engineering teams in a fast‑moving environment.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
• Self‑starter who can lead projects with minimal guidance.
