Security Data Analyst (Level I‑III)

About the role

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is seeking Security Data Analysts at three levels to support its Office of Security. The role involves developing, collecting, and analysing sensitive police and security data to identify trends, emerging threats and operational vulnerabilities across the MTA network.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain queries that combine and transform datasets to meet security and police analytical needs.
• Conduct research and draft analytical products related to security, criminal justice and policing topics.
• Create reports, dashboards and visualisations using Power BI, Report Builder, ArcGIS and automated reporting systems.
• Compile, validate and analyse critical information to produce metrics and security reports on quality of life, crime, and safety.
• Collaborate with security team members and departmental leadership on metric development and reporting.
• Track and analyse security trends for operational development, monthly reporting and ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Interest in security analytics and ability to work with confidential data.
• Strong analytical mindset with willingness to learn data analysis methods and visualisation techniques.
• Ability to work under guidance for Level I and independently for higher levels.
