Security Architect

About the role

The Security Architect at Hut 8 will lead the design and evolution of the company’s enterprise security architecture. This senior position supports a fast‑growing environment that includes AI workloads, colocation services, cloud platforms, and Bitcoin mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and continuously improve a scalable, zero‑trust security architecture.
• Lead vulnerability management, including scanning, prioritization, and coordinated remediation.
• Own the endpoint protection platform (EPP) architecture, deploying and monitoring tools such as Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
• Conduct threat modeling, architecture assessments, and security design reviews for new infrastructure and platform initiatives.
• Develop and maintain security policies, SOPs, and training programs to foster a security‑first culture.
• Design incident‑response architecture, create playbooks, and lead response efforts.
• Drive compliance with SOC 2, ITGC, HIPAA and other regulatory frameworks.
• Evaluate, integrate, and automate new security tools and technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 3+ years in security architecture or engineering leadership.
• Strong understanding of secure system design, cloud and hybrid environments, and zero‑trust implementation.
• Deep knowledge of security frameworks such as CIS, NIST CSF, NIST 800‑53, ISO 27001, and SOC‑2.
