About the role
This position supports a defense systems software, hardware, and network integration laboratory. The role enables engineers and developers to design, build, integrate, and test complex mission systems in both air‑gapped and cloud‑connected environments.
Key responsibilities
- Administer and sustain standalone (air‑gapped) and cloud‑connected systems across multiple classification levels.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot servers, workstations, storage, and networking equipment.
- Support integration of embedded hardware, simulation environments, and test platforms.
- Manage system baselines, configurations, and documentation to meet security and compliance requirements.
- Implement and enforce DoD cybersecurity controls (STIGs, RMF, CMMC).
- Maintain accreditation artifacts and support Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
- Provide hands‑on support for system builds, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting in lab and test settings.
- Coordinate with engineers, developers, and program teams to align infrastructure with evolving project needs.
- Monitor system performance, reliability, and security posture, proactively resolving issues.
- Maintain inventory and lifecycle management of lab assets and infrastructure.
- Support incident response, audit readiness, and compliance inspections.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Systems.
- 5‑8 years of experience as a System Administrator in classified or defense environments.
- System Engineer certification in Linux and/or Windows (preferred).
- Strong experience with security analysis, design, and development.
- 5‑8 years of experience in Microsoft Cloud environments and systems networking/design.
- Security+ certification.
