School Nurse – Student Health & Education

About the role

The school nurse provides essential health services to students, delivering classroom health education, counseling, and emergency care during school hours. This position works closely with teachers and staff to promote a safe and healthy learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver classroom instruction and individual health education to students.
• Provide emergency care for illness or injury in accordance with first‑aid guidelines.
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers and school personnel to interpret and address pupil health status.
• Participate in the planning, management, and evaluation of a comprehensive school health program.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship.
• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre‑Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service.
• Direct deposit of pay is required.
• Background investigation resulting in a Tier 1 (T1) clearance with Childcare Checks.
• Agreement to random drug testing and signing of DA Form 5019.

Required skills

• First Aid certification.
• NCLEX certification.
• Active, unrestricted RN license.
