School Nurse (Federal)

About the role

This position provides comprehensive health services to students within a federal school setting. The nurse delivers classroom health education, emergency care, and collaborates with school staff to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction and individual health counseling to students.
• Deliver emergency care for illness or injury during school hours following standard first‑aid protocols.
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers and school personnel to interpret and address pupil health status.
• Participate in the development, management, and evaluation of a comprehensive school health program.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and successful completion of the NCLEX, or an equivalent degree with a current, unrestricted RN license.
• Proof of U.S. citizenship.
• Eligibility for a Tier 1 background investigation with Childcare Checks.
• Willingness to undergo random drug testing and sign a DA Form 5019.
• Male applicants born after 31 December 1959 must complete a Selective Service certification.

Required skills

• Active RN license.
• NCLEX certification.
• First‑aid and emergency care proficiency.
