Schedule Engineer (M/F) – Construction

About the role

The Schedule Engineer will support the $2.9 BN Red Line Extension project in Chicago, developing and maintaining construction schedules to ensure timely delivery of milestones. This full‑time, on‑site position works closely with project managers, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules from pre‑construction through close‑out.
• Collaborate with project teams to gather requirements, analyze plans, and incorporate constraints.
• Identify critical and near‑critical path activities, assess risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Monitor progress, provide regular schedule updates, and conduct impact analyses for changes.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to align their activities with the master schedule.
• Ensure compliance with contractual timelines and scheduling best practices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five (5) years of heavy‑construction scheduling experience.
• Preferred degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication, meeting facilitation, and document management skills.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and information‑management tools such as SharePoint, Smartsheet, ACC or E‑Builder.
